ABC SILENT AUCTION IN HINTON THIS WEEKEND (Feb. 19)

Alberta Biathlon Club will be holding a silent auction in Hinton this weekend, as part of the Saturday night banquet. Items up for auction include: Suunto watch, lodging in Jasper and Canmore, various clothing items, souvenir race bibs, Bushnell Optical equipment, and various ski accessories. Come ready to purchase some fabulous stuff and support ABC!

2010 BIATHLON ALBERTA AWARDS (Feb. 17)

Nominations are currently being accepted for the following 2010 Biathlon Alberta awards: 3M Coach of the Year, Shell Canada Volunteer of the Year, ABC Official of the Year, and the Ruedi Setz Memorial Award. Click here for a summary of the awards. Wish to nominate someone? Please send nominations to the office by February 28th. Awards will be presented March 6th in Canmore, at the conclusion of the Special General Meeting.

BIATHLON ALBERTA SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING (Feb. 12)

The Biathlon Alberta Board of Directors has called a Special General Meeting, the purpose of which is to seek Association approval of proposed new bylaws and revised financial statements from the 2007-08 and 2008-09 financial years.

ALBERTA WINTER GAMES WRAP-UP (Feb. 8)

79 young Biathlon Alberta competitors from across the province competed at the Alberta Winter Games this past weekend in Cold Lake. The Canadian military, hosts for the event, trucked in snow to supplement the thin natural covering and built a range specifically for the event. A Modified Sprint, featuring Relay-style shooting procedure, replaced a planned Mass Start. Results for the event are here: Individual / Sprint / Modified Sprint
