NEWS FROM THE CANMORE NORDIC CENTRE (August 27)

Important changes regarding operation of the Canmore Nordic Centre Biathlon Range will come into effect October 1st, 2009.

Key changes include:

  1. All users must have a biathlon range pass, issued free-of-charge by the Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.
  2. All range users must be supervised by an approved Range Safety Officer.
  3. Approved Range Safety Officers must complete Range Safety Officer training and a Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park Orientation course. 

Range Safety Officer orientation courses are scheduled for September 5th (14:00), September 7th (18:00), and September 28th (18:00). NCCP LEVEL 2 TECHNICAL COURSE (August 4)

Biathlon Alberta will be hosting a Level 2 NCCP Technical Coaching course August 28 - 30, in advance of Biathlon Canada's Level 3 course in September. More information, including registration information, on the Level 2 course, and other upcoming Biathlon Alberta courses, is available here.

NCCP LEVEL 3 TECHNICAL COURSE (July 9)

Biathlon Canada will be hosting an NCCP Level 3 Technical Course in Canmore September 13 - 17. Details of this course may be found here. In advance of this course, Biathlon Alberta will be hosting a pre-requisite Level 2 Technical Course on the final weekend of August (details above).

 

2008/09 BIATHLON ALBERTA ATHLETES OF THE YEAR (July 13)

Congratulations to the 2008/09 Biathlon Alberta Athletes of the Year, as announced at the recent AGM in Hinton! These awards recognize performance at International events and the Canadian National Championships. Recipients from the past season include:

In advance of this course, Biathlon Alberta will be hosting a pre-requisite Level 2 Technical Course on the final weekend of August. Details of the Level 2 course will be available soon.

 

DIRECT ATHLETE SUPPORT PROGRAM (July 7)

Biathlon Alberta is pleased to announce a new athlete support program for the 2009/10 season. The Direct Athlete Support Program provides financial assistance to Junior and Senior Provincial Team members, while assisting with athlete recruitment and sport promotion initiatives.
